La Lucia woman assaulted in dog walking fight

A local resident was verbally and physically assaulted during evening walk.

A LOCAL resident was allegedly physically assaulted in an incident on Burnham Drive on Saturday evening. The La Lucia resident, who was walking her dogs, was warned  by a resident not to walk her dogs on her verge. According to Lt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, the woman suffered a dislocated jaw in the attack.

“It’s alleged the woman was walking her dogs when she was told by a neighbour not to walk her dogs on her property because her dogs were barking at her dogs. The victim said the verge was municipal property and continued walking on. It’s alleged the woman then chased after her and punched her.

“She was called an Indian b*tch and the assault continued when she fell to the ground. She screamed for help and her mom came to her rescue. Her jaw was dislocated in the assault. The case is still currently under investigation but a case of assault has been opened,” Deokaran said.
