Virginia restaurant ‘cleaned out’ by thieves

A local pop-up beach restaurant was targeted by thieves.

VIRGINIA Beach’s newest pop-up restaurant, VB’s, was ‘cleaned out’ in a robbery last night. The restaurant, which has been a hit with local residents since opening earlier this year, was part of a R12-million makeover project for the beach. According to the restaurant’s Facebook page, 18 cases of cooldrinks, six large beach umbrellas and a number of other items were taken in the theft.

“We unfortunately got ‘cleaned out’ last night. The thief/thieves sadly took all our stock, our POS system and umbrellas, and we will remain closed until Friday, at which point we have hopefully replaced what we had and can open,” said the post.

While several residents have blamed vagrants, the owners have denied this.

“Given what was taken, it is doubtful that vagrants managed to carry off so much. We suspect that whoever was involved had a vehicle,” they said.
