WATCH: Hijacker loses control of stolen car
A security officer refused to accept a bribe from a hijacker and handed him over to police.
THERE was drama in uMhlanga yesterday night when a hijacker did not get far after trying to steal a car in the upmarket suburb.
The hijacker lost control of the VW Golf just a short distance away, and it plowed into a residential property in Herald Drive. The suspect then abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
He was arrested in Portland Drive by an Enforce Security reaction officer, Sandile Msebenzi.
What’s more, the hijacker tried to bribe Msebenzi with R1 000. According to Enforce Security, the reaction officer refused and the hijacker was handed over to Durban North SAPS. The incident occurred shortly after 10pm.
