Umhlanga accident leaves two critically injured

Two women hit by vehicle while crossing the road on the M41 near Gateway.

TWO women were critically injured in a pedestrian accident along the M41 opposite the Gateway this morning at around 7.30am. According to Netcare 911 spokesman, Chris Botha, reports from the scene indicate that the females were trying to cross the uMhlanga bound lane of the M41 when they were hit by a vehicle.

“Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the critically wounded patients lying in the roadway. Medics worked fervently to stabilise the wounded before they transported them to a local hospital for the specialised care that they required,” he said.

This comes two days after a pedestrian was killed in an alleged hit-and-run on North Coast Road.
