Armed men rob La Lucia home

Men armed with handguns and wearing balaclavas and gloves storm La Lucia home.

A DOMESTIC worker was held up by armed men wearing balaclavas and gloves on Cherron Avenue, La Lucia earlier today. Four men confronted the domestic worker in the main bedroom and ordered her put a towel over her head to cover her eyes. According to Marshall Security’s Tyron Powell, the incident occurred just before 11am.

“Both the domestic worker and the gardener were at home when the men stormed in. Two of the men were armed with handguns. They repeatedly asked the domestic worker where the safe was and she was made to cover her face with a towel. They then stole a flat screen television, a camera, jewellery and laptops.

“During the robbery they spotted the gardener outside and chased after him. He fled the scene and managed to jump over a fence into a neighbouring property on Millhaven Place. The resident then alerted the police and the security company. We missed the suspects by seconds as they made a hasty escape,” he said.

No one was hurt in the incident and Powell said the make of the car used by the armed men was unknown at this stage.
