One killed in Umgeni Road crash

A WOMAN was killed in the early hours of the morning when the vehicle she was travelling in rolled several times before colliding into a pole on Umgeni Road near Walter Gilbert Road.

“Rescue Care paramedics arrived at the scene to find that the single vehicle had torn apart after rolling several times and colliding with a street pole. Paramedics found that there were four occupants of the vehicle. Sadly one of the passengers, a female, had suffered fatal injuries and there was nothing further paramedics could do and she was declared deceased on the scene. The other three occupants of the vehicle suffered minor injuries and were transported to a nearby facility,” Garrith Jamieson said.

The cause of the accident is unclear at this stage, but SAPS will be investigating the incident.
