Five injured in uMhlanga taxi accident

Taxi lands in hedge after early morning collision.

FIVE people were injured earlier this morning after a taxi crashed into a car and the smashed into a traffic light. The accident occurred at the Westridge traffic lights at about 6.30am.

According to Netcare 911 spokesman, Chris Botha, it is believed the taxi collided with a VW Polo, veered off the road and collided with a light pole before coming to rest in the hedge of Umhlanga Manors.

“Five people sustained injuries, one serious, while the others sustained minor injuries. After paramedics treated the injured at the scene they transported them to a local hospital,” he said.
