Female criminals strike in Durban North

Two incidents have been reported where women were involved in contact crime in the area.

TWO women and a man allegedly robbed an Umgeni Park resident at knife point in broad daylight yesterday morning. The incident took place in Riverside Road.
Blue Security operations manager, Brian Jackson, said the resident approached an armed reaction officer who was patrolling the area at 10.23am and gave him a description of the armed robbers.
“The resident was allegedly held up at knife point by the man while the women robbed him of his cellphone, jacket and sandals. Our officer searched the area and found the two women, who were then identified by the victim and arrested,” he said. The women were later handed over to the Greenwood Park SAPS.According to Jackson, this was the second incident in recent months where women were alleged to be involved in ‘contact crimes’.

The male suspect is still at large.
