Eastview suffers another cable theft

This follows an incident involving a cable thieving duo caught on CCTV camera two weeks ago in the same road.

CABLE thieves have once again struck in Eastview Road, leaving residents without power for the majority of the day.

This follows an incident involving a cable thieving duo caught on CCTV camera in the same road a little over two weeks ago.

The home of Paul Khan of the Parkhill Neighbourhood Watch was affected by the theft. According to Khan, he and his wife noticed that the power was off when they woke up at about 4am this morning. They reported the incident to the eThekwini Municipality.

Several homes along the road have been affected and are still waiting to have their power restored.

“It is frustrating. Last time it took the whole day to have the cables repaired, and I suspect that we will be experiencing an equally long wait today,” said Khan.
