Quirky puppy needs loving home

Rolls desperately needs a loving home, and Morgado is appealing to any community members who would like to add a four-legged companion to their home to consider Rolls.

DOZENS of dogs are rescued and homed by local non-profit organisation (NPO), Project Dog, every month.

One of the pups who has tugged at the heart-strings of the NPO’s founder, Quicha Morgado, is five-month-old Rolls.

“When Rolls and his brother, Royce, were rescued from Clare Estate, they were covered in ticks and suffered from biliary. Sadly, he had a negative reaction to the medication, which caused swelling in the brain. This affected his cerebellum, a region of the brain that controls the body’s motor control functions,” explained Morgado.

Rolls survived his ordeal, but now has a slight ‘quirk’. Within seconds of meeting the happy-go-lucky pup one can immediately spot his lack of balance and co-ordination.

“It becomes particularly obvious when he is excited. He will flop to the ground and trip over his own legs, but still remains a happy loving dog. He is normal in every other aspect and loves people, especially children,” added Morgado.

She explained that his symptoms are irreversible, but insisted that he was not in any pain or discomfort. “He is not aware of his ‘disability’. It is only people who notice his small quirks, and he has had some trouble getting adopted because of them,” she said.
Morgado also stressed that Rolls will not require any additional treatment or medication.
