Bus crashes into wall, 14 injured

Driver of bus escapes unscathed while 14 of his passengers were injured.

FOURTEEN people were injured when a bus crashed into a wall on Chris Hani (North Coast) Road early on Wednesday morning. The accident occurred at about 7am just before Blackburn Road and caused major traffic delays on the already busy route. According to the Crisis Medical’s spokesman, Neil Powell, the driver lost control of the bus and drove straight into a wall.

“The driver said another car forced him off the road, which caused him to veer into the wall. There were 14 passengers who suffered minor cuts and bruises, but the driver escaped the crash unscathed,” Powell said.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. The wreckage has since been towed from the scene but traffic is still backlogged heading towards the city.
