Local trio hope to raise funds for charity

PROVIDING a safe, unique and responsible event. These were three aspects looked at when three local lads launched their own events company. Kyle Graham and twin brothers, Andile and Ayanda Ngidi, all have a background in events management and decided to launch their company (Grom Events) in the hopes of providing a platform for U18 events.

“I have a little brother and I remember there were all these parties he couldn’t go to because he was under age and he had nowhere to go, but roam around. So we decided to use our skills and provide a safe environment for under 18s.

“We’ve heard stories of kids under 18 finding their way into bars and clubs, especially during the school holidays. So we thought why not give these kids a safe event to attend,” Graham said.

“Our company is also based on a Christian ethos, and we wanted kids attending our events being mindful of those less fortunate than them. So we decided to donate all funds raised from Grom vest sales to the SPCA and CHOC. Especially as the festive season approaches, it’s the season of giving,” Ayanda said.

“The holiday period is a stressful time for parents who want their kids to be safe. We hope our events act as a unifying force. We had our first event during the July holidays and that was a resounding success,” Andile said. Tickets are available from Wakaberry stores.
