THE brazen duo behind the R20 000 robbery at Zoggy’s tobacconist at Gateway have been arrested. Following an anonymous tip-off from a member of the public who recognised the duo from CCTV stills on the Northglen News website, police swooped on the thieves home last night at about 8pm.
The uncle and his teenage niece were shocked when police showed up outside their shack at the Malagazi Township (on the border of Isipingo and Umlazi).
Detective Vis Moodely, from the Durban North SAPS said the man and his niece have been linked to three other robberies using the same modus operandi.
“We’ve established the teenager goes to a school in Isipingo. I’d like to thank the public for their assistance in the case and urge other people who have been duped by the duo to contact me,” he said.
