Terrifying graveyard ordeal at Redhill cemetery

A woman locked herself in a car after a man threatened to kill her and bury her at a local cemetery.

A WOMAN was left fighting for her life at a grave yard last night after a man threatened to kill her and bury her on the spot.

The horrific incident took place at the massive Red Hill Cemetery in Durban North.

“On Sunday, 27 July at around 11pm our control room received a panic signal from a resident in Girvan Avenue in Durban North who reported that a woman was requesting assistance as a male suspect with a firearm was threatening to kill her,” said Marshall Security’s Tyron Powell.

When the security officers got to the scene, an hour before midnight they found the couple in the graveyard and immediately arrested the male suspect who they said was driving a black BMW.

“The victim reported that he had taken her to the cemetery and told her he intended to shoot her and bury her in the cemetery.  At some stage she locked herself in the vehicle and he broke the car window to get to her,” Powell added.

He said the man denied that he was armed but a black gun and holster was found by security officers lying in nearby bushes.

“The firearm turned out to be a gas gun. Greenwood Park SAPS attended and the suspect was handed over to them,” Powell said.
