Did you see who knocked Danielle?

An urgent appeal has been made to try and find the person who knocked and killed a call centre agent in La Lucia last Thursday.

THE family of the 18-year-old girl who was killed in a hit and run accident in Armstrong Avenue in La Lucia last Thursday are desperately looking for witnesses to come forward.

Danielle Moodley, according to her cousin Ronica Peter, had decided to take a coffee break from work at 5.55pm when she was fatally hit by a driver during peak hour traffic.

Her cousin told the Northglen News today that Danielle made her way to a nearby shop with a colleague when tragedy struck. Her colleague was rushed to hospital shortly after the incident and survived.

“She and a friend of her crossed the road to buy coffee, they had purchased the coffee and was crossing , the driver did not have any headlights on and was speeding, he knocked her, she flew into the air, her neck broke and her legs. This is really really sad, and just imagine the driver did not bother to stop, we are appealing to anybody that may have seen the type of car, the colour and also maybe the number plate. Please this will really assist us in finding this ruthless person,” she said.

Peter said the Phoenix girl who had completed Grade 12 last year at Northmead Secondary School.

“She was working in a call centre in La Lucia and planned on doing it for this year only. She was planning on saving enough money so that she could study chemical engineering next year.”

She added that her cousin worked at the busy CCI Call Centre on La Lucia Ridge. Danielle was laid to rest on Saturday.
