Umgeni Road closed tonight for construction
There won't be any travelling along the M19 east and west tonight as construction continues on a pedestrian bridge.
MOTORISTS are urged to take note that a part of the Umgeni Road interchange will be closed from 10pm tonight to 4am tomorrow morning.
eThekwini Municipality said construction of the N2/Umgeni Road Interchange is currently underway and the contractor will close lanes on the M19 at the Western traffic light of the interchange (the N2 north to M19 and M19 to Inanda Road) for construction works on the overhead pedestrian bridge.
The contractor will be closing one lane at a time on the M19 east and then one lane at a time on the M19 west to ensure traffic movement at all times.
Residents and motorists are urged to be cautious, use alternative routes and plan their trips and leave much earlier than normal during this time.
