A WOMAN was seriously injured in an accident at the intersection of Armstrong Avenue and Shelbourne Avenue in La Lucia on Tuesday at around 5pm.
Eye witnesses reported that another vehicle smashed the driver’s side of the woman’s car. According to Chris Botha, Netcare 911 spokesman, the woman was still trapped in the wreckage when paramedics arrived on scene.
“Firemen used the Jaws of Life to free the injured patient while paramedics worked tirelessly to stabilise her,” he said.After she was rescued from the vehicle she was transported to a local hospital. Her current status is unknown. The cause of the accident is still unknown and the incident will be investigated by traffic police.
