Two suspects arrested after N2 shootout
Two more suspects were arrested in connection with Tuesday's shootout on the N2 northbound.
POLICE reported that two suspects were arrested in connection with a hijacking that led to Tuesday’s shootout on the N2 northbound in which one of the hijackers was shot dead.
It was reported yesterday that the suspects opened fire on police officers who were chasing the hijackers in a bid to try stop the vehicle. One suspect was killed on scene and another injured. It was believed the other two hijackers were also arrested, but KZN SAPS confirmed that two suspects fled the scene.
Provincial police spokesman, Cap Thulani Zwane, said the two hijackers who tried to escape the scene were caught on Tuesday afternoon.
The three hijacker will appear in court soon.
