Security guard in intensive care unit

The security guard who was run over by a shoplifter this morning is in a critical condition in a local hospital's intensive care unit.

THE security guard that was run over by a female shoplifter at Gateway last night is in the intensive care unit at a local hospital.

According to Durban North SAPS spokesman, Lt Raymond Deokaran, the woman panicked when she saw her accomplice was being arrested by the guard for being in possession of three stolen perfumes.

Deokaran told Northglen News that the woman jumped in a parked car and tried to speed off when she knocked over the security guard. The guard was dragged 100 metres down the road.

In the boot of the car police found R11 000 worth of goods stolen from the mall.

Both shoplifters were arrested and will appear in court on Monday.

  1. Shocking. These woman should be locked up for good. Brave security guard. Hope he recovers and is able to work again. We need more dedicated people like him.
