Murdered man found under tree

A Greenwood Park Police Station officer found the body of a man, that was stabbed twice, lying under a tree in Springfield Park.

THE body of a murdered man was found under a tree in Springfield Park last week. 

An officer from the Greenwood Park Police Station responded to a complaint received on Sunday, 11 May that a dead man was lying under a tree in the Springfield Park industrial area. 

“When the officer arrived at the scene she found a lifeless man’s body, believed to be in his 50s, lying under a tree at the intersection of Aloefield and Willowfield Crescents,” said Lt Elvis Naidoo, spokesman for the station. 

The murdered man had a stab wound to the right of his neck, as well as a stab wound on his head. 

“An ambulance was called out to declare the man dead before the body was taken to the Phoenix Mortuary. The body has not been odentified as yet and no one has reported a man, fitting this description, as missing,” Lt Naidoo added. 

No arrests have been made, but police are investigating a case of murder.
