Pupil critical after being hit near North Coast Road

A young school boy was injured when a car knocked him over on the way to school on Tuesday morning.

A SCHOOL boy from Greenwood Park has been critically injured in a pedestrian accident on Tuesday morning.

Netcare 911 reported that a seven-year-old school boy is in a critical condition after he was hit by a car in the Greenwood Park area at around 7.45am.

“Reports from the scene indicate that the child was walking on the pavement when a vehicle collided into him,” said Netcare 911 spokesman, Chris Botha.

Botha said paramedics arrived at the scene and found the child with multiple system injuries lying on the pavement.

“After the boy was stabilised at the scene  they transported the child, under the constant care of an advanced life support paramedic, to Addington Hospital,” Botha added.
