Glen Anil and uMgeni Park robberies soar

Another woman, and a customer, were held up by two armed men at a local business.

BUSINESS robberies in the Glen Anil and uMgeni Park ares are not abating.  Another robbery rocked the Glen Anil area this week when  two armed robbers first slapped a woman then proceeded to hold her  up . What’s more, they also held  up a customer  of the business. This year alone, the Northglen News has reported on over ten robberies in these areas.

According to Greenwood Park SAPS, the woman was inside her office helping a customer when two armed men posing as customers, entered the business.
“The men entered the office, drew their firearms and demanded the safe keys from the woman,” said Lt Elvis Naidoo, spokesman for the station.
The robbers took the safe keys and stole R25 000 from the safe along with other important documents.

“The robbers then hit the woman in the face demanding another safe’s keys, which she did not have. According to the security guard a third suspect parked a white Toyota Verso at the gate, waiting for his accomplices to return,” he added.
The registration of the Verso was checked and found to be falsified. The registration number was linked to a silver Kia in Newlands West.
“No shots were fired and no one was injured. No arrest or recoveries have been made as yet,” Lt Naidoo said.
