Oakridge College rally behind Keith

Keith Slabbert's former school to host a bowls day to help with fund-raising efforts.

OAKRIDGE College pupils honoured former pupil Keith Slabbert recently by pledging to help with his fund-raising efforts to be treated at America’s Project Walk Spinal Cord Injury Recovery Centre. Almost two years ago, Slabbert suffered a seizure in bed which led to him fracturing his C4 cervical disc, which resulted in his paralyses.

One of the school’s parents also helped set up a website for Keith to help with fund-raising efforts (www.keithsjourney.co.za).

Bowling for Keith

The school has also organised a bowls day for Keith at the Park Hill Bowling Club on Sunday 6 April. Keith’s mother, Dorothy, urged Durban North residents to come out and support the day.

There will be auctions and sales of various items on the day. There is also a collection of any new or second hand goods on the day to donate for the auction or sale. Contact Disree on 072 253 44 55.

Registration begins at 9.30am with play due to start at 10am.
