ON Sunday, 30 March Durbanites will know if their Miss SA favourite, Julia Petersen, has won the coveted title.
The beauty pageant will see 12 young women from around the country vying for the title in which the winner will walk away with an A Volvo V40 T3 valued at R335 000. That’s the biggest prize. Other prizes include, the use of a fully furnished and serviced apartment for the year of her reign, valued at R240 000.
Family and friends are backing the former Northlands Girls’ High School pupil who told the Northglen News one month ago:“You have to remember where you came from and be true to yourself. Never underestimate yourself and no matter what obstacles you face, if you believe in yourself you can achieve it. Being teased at school was really tough but I overcame that obstacle with a positive attitude.”
The 22-year-old hails from Greenwood Park is backed here by her family and friends.
