Greenwood Park sectors report back

Greenwood Park Police Station's six sectors report back on the crime in the area.

Sector 1 reported that crime in the area is low. It was reported that patrols and crime prevention operations have been increased. House breaking is the most common crime in the sector. “In Sector 6 the crime reported is mainly common assault and assault with the intent to do grievious bodily harm,” Lt Elvis Naidoo, spokesman for Greenwood Park SAPS, said.

Sector 2 reported that crime in the area remains constant. House breaking and theft out of motor vehicle remain the two biggest problems in the area.

Business breaking, common assault and theft of motor vehicles are the most reported crimes in Sector 3.
Residential burglary is the most reported crime in Sector 4.

“Prostitutes are also arrested regularly on Riverside Road. We are also addressing the ongoing issues with drug dealing in the area,” Lt Naidoo said.

Crime reported in Sector 5 is spread throughout the sector and not concentrated in any particular area. “Residential house breaking is the most reported crime in this sector. Lt Naidoo reported that neighbourhood watches appear to have made an effective difference and that there’s been a decrease of crime in this area.

Sector 2 – Effingham, Avoca, Greenwood Park and Redhill.

Sector 3 – Kenville and Sea Cow Lake.

Sector 4 – uMngeni Park, uMngeni Heights, Park Hill and Rose Hill.

Sector 5 – Glen Anil and Glen Hills.

Sector 6 – Quarry Heights.
