Crime blitz reaps rewards

A string of unlawful people were arrested in Greenwood Park Police Station's recent crime blitz.

THANKS to a crime blitz held by Greenwood Park Police Station on Friday 31 January, 19 people were arrested for various crimes.

Greenwood Park Police Station’s head of visible policing, Lt Col Zethu Ngobese and crime prevention members arrested one person for murder, three for illegally dealing in liquor and two for the illegal connection of electricity.

A total of 11 people were arrested for drunk driving, one person was arrested for robbery, one person was arrested for being in possession of dagga and another person was arrested violating the road traffic act.

Greenwood Park SAPS spokesman, Lt Elvis Naidoo, commended the offices for a job well done.

“We’ve been focusing a lot on crime hot spots and urge residents to report any illegal, unlawful and suspicious activity to the police immediately,” he said.
