Greenwood Park SAPS secures sentencing of criminals

Ten criminals have been sentenced to imprisonment thanks to Greenwood Park Police Station's detectives.

THANKS to arrests made by Greenwood Park Police Station’s detectives from October to December last year, 10 criminals will be spending some deserving time behind bars.

Lt Elvis Naidoo, spokesman for the station, said Budleni Nzuzo was sentenced to five years in prison for murder, while Andile Hlela and Phumlani Enock Nzuza were sentenced to eight years in prison for robbery.

Mason Chetty was sentenced to five years in prison for carjacking and Thabani Mtshali was sentenced to the same time imprisonment for house breaking and theft. In November last year Lungani Maphumulo, Nkosinathi Maphumulo, Thamsanqa Ngongoma and Cebo Nsele were sentenced to 126 years’ imprisonment collectively.

Lungani Maphumulo was sentenced to 18 years imprisonment for carjacking and kidnapping, while Nkosinathi Maphumulo, Thamsanqa Ngongoma and Cebo Nsele were each sentenced to 36 years’ imprisonment for rape, carjacking and kidnapping.
