Customise your life with conference

THE Design Your Life conference and workshop is on 16 November and aims to empower women who have been divorced or widowed.

The workshop and company was created out of a passion to empower women to realise their own uniqueness and to reach their full potential. Co-owners, Sharon Desfontaines and Carol Howard, are both entrepreneurs who have had first-hand experience of the challenges life throw at you. They have the desire to share their vision, understanding and inspiration with others. Their first conference is entitled Live Life Successfully in the Single Lane.

“‘Our aim is to equip and inspire women who are separated, divorced or widowed with the right tools, the right plan and the right approach to this transformational period in their lives,” the duo said.

The conference, sponsored by investment management group, Prudential, runs from 9am to 5pm, and has attracted and secured five highly qualified professionals to present.

These guest speakers will equip the conference attendants with invaluable and empowering information, to help them create a positive and proactive approach to their lives.

Dr Beth McLeod of Femina Health is the keynote speaker and will be covering the body, mind and spirit connection to wellness and happiness. Divorce attorney, Benita Ardenbaum, will focus on knowing your legal rights and asking the

relevant questions. Psychiatric nurse, Carol Jones, will address the women on taking responsibility for their social image and long term health and well-being.

Well known fashion stylist, Fay Coleman of Image Insured, will be talking about dressing appropriately and letting the real you shine through.

Psychologist, Dr Jeanne Oets, will be talking about managing the emotional rollercoaster as well as managing key relationships in a positive, loving and constructive way. The topic of financial planner and wealth coach, Susan Mercer’s talk, is Financial Freedom and she will be educating the women on how to strategise before the documents are signed, as well as providing a simple guide to understanding your role, and your financial responsibilities, in deciding which path to take.

The conference is at Nkulisa Conference Centre in Glenwood.
