Help Hindu Society share the light this Diwali

Help the uMhlanga Hindu Society spread the light this Diwali by making a small donation to the society to help the needy.

THE uMhlanga Hindu Society (UHS) announced its ongoing charity, or Seva, initiative to assist the poor, disadvantaged, abandoned, HIV/Aids orphaned children and child-headed households.

UHS thanked all for assisting the society in the 2012 Diwali collection, where the UHS distributed more than 200 hampers to disadvantaged children at Brookdale Primary School, at the Ganesh Temple and to abused women and HIV affected families in the Phoenix area, as well as the underprivileged families that were identified by the Phoenix Child and Family Welfare Organisation.

This year, UHS dedicates itself again by providing food for people in need. The UHS has planned to distribute hampers to the value of R150 each, consisting of essential perishable and non-perishable groceries including biscuits and sweets.

UHS has again appealed to local residents to assist with donations.
