Greenwood SAPS appeals for festive goodies

Greenwood Park SAPS calls on local residents to make this festive season memorable for all Durban North residents.

WITH the festive season fast approaching, Greenwood Park SAPS appeals for residents to donate toward the station’s annual festive season outreach programme.

The station’s communication officer, Lt Elvis Naidoo, said at the end of each year the station collects goods, toys and funds for local informal settlements.

Non-persihable food, toys, clothes, shoes, baby food and school goods are all collected for the outrach programme. Cash donations are also accepted, which will be used to buy goods for those in need.

“We ask that the community come on board to help us reach out to the needy. We hope to make it a memorable festive season for all residents, ” Lt Naidoo said.

Lt Naidoo also urged locals to support the SAPS’ major drive in December, 16 days of activism against women and child abuse.

“We want to educate, empower, assist and counsel those women and children in our area who fell victim to abuse and crime,” he added.
