Greenwood SAPS make 202 arrests

Thanks to Greenwood Park Police Station's dedicated officers, 202 criminals have been put behind bars.

GREENWOOD Park SAPS made a major breakthrough when 202 criminals were arrested for various offences.

The arrests were made by the station’s crime prevention unit and detectives.

“We are working very hard to arrest criminals who target Durban North residents,” said the station’s spokesman, Lt Elvis Naidoo.

Of the 202 arrests, two were for murder, 16 for assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm, four for rape, two for business robbery, three for house robbery, eight for common assault, 22 for theft and 29 for drug related incidents.

“We interacted with Metro Police, neighbourhood watches and sector policing members and we’ve been targetting hot spots,” Lt Naidoo said.

Lt Naidoo said it is vital for the community to engage with the police to better fight crime.

He urged residents to attend the monthly sector policing forums.
