Robberies plague Durban North

The Durban North area has been plagued by robberies over the last few weeks.

THE Greenwood Park and surrounding areas have been hard hit by crime in recent weeks.

Robbers broke into 12 Tipuana Drive on 14 August and stole two flat screen TVs.

Four men were seen going up Bracken Road with the TV sets.

On 19 August there was another robbery in Mill Road, Effingham.

According to the police, the house was ransacked by three men while the owner was held up inside the house.

They fled in a black 3-series BMW. The family was not harmed, but were traumatised.

Durban North Crisis Team was in attendance, as well as SAPS. It is suspected that there were another two suspect involved.

In another incident, a pregnant woman and her domestic worker were held up in Chestnut Crescent. It is believed the pregnant woman jumped over the wall. No one was hurt, but the pregnant woman was taken to hospital for a checkup.
