Paramedics save children from enferno

Crisis Medical paramedics saved two children from a blazing death.

CRISIS Medical senior paramedic, Shaun Justine, noticed thick black smoke coming from near eThekwini Hospital.

A seasoned paramedic, he immediately sensed something was very wrong and wasted no time following the smoke.

Once he arrived at the source, Shaun found a shack engulfed in flames. Bystanders rushed over to inform him that two children were missing.

Without thinking, he began searching for the children. Being a qualified rescue firefighter, Shaun knew where he should begin the search.

With the raging fire encroaching, Shaun found the children and immediately evacuated them to a place of safety to be reunited with their parents. Luckily, they escaped any injury.

During the frantic rescue, Crisis Medical back up teams arrived and assisted in evacuating 100 people from the settlement while eThekwini’s Fire Department battled the blaze.

The entire settlement was razed to the ground, two people died and another two people were taken to hospital.
