Become a dream chaser

A DREAM Chaser is anyone that wants to use their activities and ambition to help make dreams come true for children suffering with a life-threatening illness.

Are you planning on cycling the Amashova, doing the Dusi or taking on the Midmar Mile? Are you planning a hike, walk or surfing competition? Whatever your challenge will be, you can use it as an opportunity to inspire hope in the children that Reach For A Dream works with.

Jannie Weitz, previous dream child of Reach For A Dream and a cancer survivor, talks of taking on the Turbovite Jump City to help make other children’s dreams a reality.

“I was once a dreamer and Reach for a Dream brought joy to my life at a time when I needed it most. After being in remission for the past 10 years, I feel it is time for me to give back to the people who gave so much to me.”

Dream Chasers is an initiative of the Reach For A Dream Foundation (RFAD). RFAD fulfils the dreams of children suffering with a life threatening illness between the ages of 3-18 years and is a national registered charity that has been operating for 25 years in South Africa.

Join others such as Antony Clapham (Mandela Marathon), Shane Sweetnam (Amashova) and the incredible Darryl Atwell and friends from ‘feet4feat’ who are currently walking from Durban to Johannesburg, having already walked all the way from Cape Town over the last few months!

“We believe in the strength and value of dreams. By living out our dream of walking around the country, we hope to help those that perhaps do not have the chance to live their dreams,” said Darryl.
