FINE Wine Prive` was held recently at La Lucia Mall where more than 650 VIP guests gathered to sample the wine produced by 55 of the country’s top winemakers and wine farmers. Recognising the perilous plight of South Africa’s rhinos and the daunting task for those trying to save them, guests dug deep and a sum of R40 600 was raised on the night for Project Rhino KZN.
La Lucia Mall centre manager, Vanessa Blevins said, “The plight of our rhinos is a tragic situation, and the fight for their survival is a huge ongoing task which we are passionate about supporting. “To date over 410 rhinos have been killed in South Africa, and it is for this reason that the La Lucia Mall management have once again chosen to continue to support the outstanding work done by the collaborative efforts of Project Rhino KZN and the recognised ZAP Wing Unit which has been shortlisted in the Rhino Conservation category of the Mail & Guardian’s Greening the Future Awards 2014”.
