Shocking bank robbery in Musgrave caught on video

VIDEO footage has emerged of a brazen armed robbery at a bank in Musgrave on Thursday. The incident occurred at about 1.20pm. The video shows a man with an AK-47 chase a bank customer around the bank with a bag allegedly containing R100 000.

The victim throws his money bag over the counter, and runs out of harm’s way. The gunman then jumps over the counter grabs the bag and flees to an awaiting getaway vehicle.

According to our sister paper, Berea Mail, the victim was going to the bank to make a deposit when a man emerged from a Golf 7 and approached him with a firearm.

The victim, a Chinese national, was left visibly shaken by the incident. No arrests have been made at this stage of the investigation.
