Glenhills resident lands top honour
The former Northlands Old Boy is the 65th President of the 89 year old Institute.
GLENHILLS architect, Kevin Bingham, has been inaugurated as the new President of the South African Institute of Architects (SAIA). The former Northlands Old Boy is the 65th President of the 89 year old Institute. The ceremony was held at the Durban Hilton Hotel and drew architects from all over the country.
Bingham takes over from the former SAIA President, Sindile Ngonyama, who hails from East London.
“My wish is to establish a SAIA that drives our profession forward into its rightful place in society; one recognized as leading the way in built environment matters, with its members being acknowledged for their skills and expertise, and through broader public education, recognition of the value of the work of an architect,” he said.
Bingham is a director of FGG Architects Inc, with offices in Durban, Pietermaritzburg and Johannesburg. He holds a Diploma, Bachelors and Research Masters degrees in Architecture, and has completed a specialist course in medical design for airborne diseases, at Harvard University.
