Dedicated detective nabs four burglars

The swift action of the detective led to the arrest of all four suspects in less than a month.

FOUR alleged house burglars appeared at Durban Magistrate’s Court following the swift arrest by a Greenwood Park police officer.

It is believed that the suspects broke into an Avoca Hills home on 18 August, where they stole a television, computer and a bag, said station spokesman, W/O Leon Audh.

SAPS were called to the scene after the Cane Crescent homeowner discovered that his front gate and door had been forced open.

Det/Cst Nhlanhla Mhlongo quickly ascertained at the scene and from enquires elsewhere that four men using a gold Toyota Corolla, had committed the robbery.

“The highly committed and dedicated detective left no stone unturned when he followed up on the information received and managed to arrest three of the four suspects the following day,” said Audh.

The stolen good as well as the vehicle used to commit the crime were also recovered.

A few weeks later the detective finally managed to arrest the fourth and final suspect.
