Strut your stuff for cancer

Animal activist, Nicole Linden is organising a horse outride in Summerveld in aid of cancer awareness.

ANIMAL activist, Nicole Linden, has found a way to combine her love of animals with a new awareness and fundraising campaign. In the past she has organised pit bull walks to raise awareness for the misunderstood breed.

However, this time the 25-year-old is organizing a horse outride starting in Summerveld on Sunday, 28 August at 9am in support of breast and other forms of cancer.

“Cancer is something that effects everyone, so I wanted to branch out and help raise awareness. I have personally lost my grandfather to cancer as well as a number of friends and colleagues,” said Linden.

Riders will meet in Summerveld at Summerveld Country Lodge and proceed to ride through the cane to Shongweni Club where refreshments will be waiting. Participants will be able to relax and chat for a while before they embark on the ride home.

According to Linden riders of all levels and ages are welcome to attend.

“Each and everyone is encouraged to dress in pink to show your support. Dress yourself and your horse in pink – the pinker the better,” she said. All the funds raised during the event will be donated to the PINC organisation.

Founder of the organisation, Lisa Campos will also be supporting the initiative on the day. Entrance costs R70 per person.
