Armed men ransack La Lucia home

The armed men ransacked the home stealing various electronic equipment as well as cash.

FOUR men armed with handguns stormed a Dunford Avenue home in La Lucia at about lunchtime on Friday. According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, the domestic worker and gardener were at home at the time of the robbery.

“The men who were driving a high end luxury vehicle, managed to gain access to the home. They ordered the domestic worker and gardener to lie down and to keep quiet. The men then ransacked the house, stealing an undisclosed amount of money, jewellery, a laptop, several cell phones and an iPad.

“One of our patrol officers responding the armed robbery spotted the suspects vehicle and gave pursuit. A high speed chase ensued through Glen Anil and unfortunately the suspects managed to evade arrest,” he said.

Van Reenen added the domestic and garden worker were left severely traumatised after the ordeal.
