Police search second-hand dealers, settlements

Greenwood Park SAPS as well as K9 Unit host cordon and search intelligence operation.

GREENWOOD Park SAPS and the Durban K9 Unit recently held a cordon and search at various informal settlemnts as well as residential premises on Friday. According to W/O Leon Audh, spokesman for the Greenwood Park SAPS, the operation was to uncover drug dealers.

“The operation at informal settlements in the area as well as at residences which were suspected to be dealing in drugs. Books and goods of second-hand dealers were also inspected to check if they were complying with the stipulations on their licences.

“Areas that were searched included North Coast Road, Effingham Heights and Blackburn Road.We would like to thank the community for coming on board and providing us with vital information which is required to make arrests and recoveries in operations such as these,” he said.

Though no arrests were made, Audh said the operations are held at random and is intelligence driven.
