Rinaldo Road cell phone thief nabbed by community members

The suspect has been handed over to the Greenwood Park SAPS.

MEMBERS of the Glenhills community, with the assistance of Marshall Security chased and apprehended a cell phone thief on Rinaldo Road on Monday night. According to Marshall’s Kyle van Reenen the incident occurred at about 7pm.

“He stole a cell-phone from a pedestrian walking along Rinaldo Road. We were alerted to the incident by members of the community shortly after 7pm. Our reaction officers were dispatched to the scene and on arrival found members of the community chasing a man down the road.

“With the assistance of the community the man was apprehended. The phone found in his possession was positively identified by the victim as having been stolen from her. The man was arrested on scene and handed over to the Greenwood Park South African Police,” he said.
