Taxi jumps red robot, smashes into car

The impact pushed the driver of the other vehicle onto the centre medium.

FIVE people were injured after an accident on the corner of North Coast Road and Blackburn Road this morning at about 8.45am.  According to Neil Powell of Crisis Medical, a taxi collided with a vehicle hitting in a t-bone style.

“Four occupants of the taxi along with the driver of the vehicle sustained injuries during the collision. The driver of the vehicle, who is approximately 42 years old sustained moderate injuries. He was transported to hospital by another service on scene.

“According to eyewitness reports, the vehicle was turning right into Blackburn Road when the taxi jumped the red traffic light. The taxi t-boned the vehicle at high speed pushing it up onto the centre medium,” he said.
