Car catches on fire outside butchery

No one was injured in the blaze which was quickly extinguished.

PARAMEDICS and firefighters were called to a parking lot outside a popular local butchery in Redhill north of Durban shortly after 1.30pm on Sunday afternoon.

“Swift action from members of Ethekwini Fire and Rescue saw the blaze quickly extinguished.

“The cause of the fire is unknown and the necessary authorities will investigate further. No injuries were reported on the scene,” said Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen.

The fire comes after a suspected gas explosion near Salt Rock earlier on Sunday.
