Mikes scores career-best figures

We chat to Crusaders skipper, Mike Alexander, about his career-best knock of 159.

CAPTAIN of the Hollywoodbets.net Crusaders Cricket Club, Mike Alexander, recently scored a career-best 159 in his side’s crushing 214-run victory over African Warriors.

He helped his side to post an imposing 289 for four in the premier league clash, with Ruben Hattingh scoring 51. ‘The Good Guys’, playing on home turf, wrapped up victory thanks to Jason Biddulph, who finished with impressive figures of six for 26.

“This whole competition I’ve been looking to set myself up for a big knock and I decided to knuckle down in this match and try and do my best for the team. I’m stoked to finish with my career-best score, but more important was the team’s performance, which was phenomenal. At first the going was tough, but as the innings wore on I was able to get used to the conditions, it got a little easier,” he said.

Alexander, whose previous best was 149, said he wasn’t aware about his match-winning knock being his highest score until he got a message from the dressing room.

“To bat from the first over to the 42nd takes some doing, so it was satisfying to secure a victory which took us eight points clear in the premier league table,” he said.
