Young man injured in alleged high speed crash
Advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilise the young patient.
A 24-YEAR-OLD was seriously injured after losing control of his vehicle on Mimosa Road, in Greenwood Park this evening.
Reports from the scene indicate the man lost control of his Volkswagen at high speed, colliding with the concrete support structure of the overhead railway bridge, said Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen.
“Paramedics arrived on scene to find the man still in his vehicle having sustained serious injuries.
Advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilise him before he was placed onto a specialised stretcher for suspected neck and spinal cord injuries and transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital,” he said.
The local authorities were on scene and will investigate.
