Kylie slammed for posing in a wheelchair

A racy mannequin-like outfit has angered many disabled and able-bodied individuals people.

AS the world celebrates International Day of Persons with Disabilities, reality television star, Kylie Jenner has been slammed for posing in a wheelchair for her new Interview Magazine photo shoot.

The controversial photo, featuring Jenner in a gold wheelchair and a racy mannequin-like outfit, has angered many  disabled and able-bodied individuals people.

Many have taken to Twitter to voice their offence to the photo, arguing that Jenner was trivialising the challenges of disabled individuals who are forced to use wheelchairs.

Here are some of the Twitter responses:
@polypolarbear: The disabled community aren’t fighting social stigmas just so kylie jenner can use a wheelchair to look more edgy
@punkingonwheels: I’m constantly infantilized because of my wheelchair, denied even the idea of sexuality and agency let alone desirability. But Kylie?

Others have come to Jenner’s defence saying the photo was an artistic expression of how fame limits her.

@nicolemilfie: Kylie describes in the interview feeling very “limited”, and how fame restricts her from a lot. The wheelchair symbolizes that.

However, other tweeps, such as @momosamermaid refused to accept the explanation, “Kylie using a wheelchair bc she feels “limited” as a wealthy, famous, able-bodied person COMPLETELY trivializes non-wealthy, disabled folks.”
