Two injured in Addison Drive shooting

A man turned himself in to police after a shooting on Addison Drive.

DURBAN North police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting at a family party in La Lucia on Sunday night which left two men critically-injured. The alleged shooter has since handed himself over to police.

According to Lt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the station, the incident occurred at about 9.40pm.

“From the information we’ve gathered, an argument broke out at a family braai. One of the men pulled out a weapon and shot two other family members, one of whom was hit in the stomach.

“We have not found the weapon used in the shooting but we did find two empty cartridges and two live rounds at the premises on Addison Drive. The suspect handed himself over to police after the incident and he has been charged with attempted murder,” Deokaran said.

According to a source, both men are in a stable in a condition.
