Two dead, one critical after Glen Anil shootout

A robbery ended in a fatal shooting in Glen Anil.

TWO men, believed to be house robbers, have been killed after a shootout in Welwitschia Avenue this evening. It’s believed at least four men had reversed into the driveway of the Glen Anil home and broken down the front door, when an alert neighbour thwarted the would-be criminals’ plans.

According to a police source, one of the suspects remains in a critical condition after being shot in the neck. A fourth suspect escaped unscathed and is currently on the loose.

“The suspects had pulled up to the house and were wearing balaclavas and gloves. They were also carrying a ten-pound hammer. They had managed to break down the door when the neighbour next door heard the commotion. A shootout ensued and the neighbour managed to shoot two of the suspects dead and critically injured the third.”

“Two firearms were recovered at the scene and the owners of the home were lucky to escape uninjured. We are currently searching for a fourth suspect who was involved in the robbery.”

It’s believed the suspects were driving a Golf 7 GTI, which had been stolen from a Chatsworth home recently.
