THE Hawks raided a drug lab in the upmarket suburb of La Lucia on Saturday, uncovering what is believed to be a sizable drug lab. According to Lt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS,  the operation netted 24 suspects, all believed to be foreign nationals.

“At least 20 000 straws of heroin was recovered with a street value of R500 000 at the Forest Drive home. The suspects were all foreign nationals,” he said.

This is the second major bust in the area following the seizure of 100 000 mandrax tablets at a Chartwell Drive home last year.
